Terms and Conditions for HeC

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using HeC (Hetzner Cloud Manager). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.
HeC is a third-party mobile application for managing Hetzner Cloud resources.
- ✔️HeC provides a mobile interface for Hetzner Cloud API
- ✔️HeC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Hetzner Online GmbH
- ✔️Hetzner Cloud services are subject to Hetzner's own terms and conditions
- ✔️You must have a valid Hetzner Cloud account to use this app
- ✔️API token access is required for app functionality
HeC offers an optional push notification service ("HeC Watcher") for real-time infrastructure monitoring. This feature is disabled by default and requires explicit opt-in.
- ✔️Push Notifications, Stock Alerts, and Server Monitoring are all disabled by default
- ✔️Before activation, the app presents a security disclosure explaining what data will be transmitted and how it is protected
- ✔️You must explicitly confirm you understand and agree before the feature is enabled
- ✔️When enabled, you provide a separate, dedicated read-only Hetzner API token that is transmitted to and stored on the HeC Watcher server to poll the Hetzner API on your behalf
- ✔️Only read-only API tokens are accepted. Read-write tokens are rejected at registration
- ✔️The service is hosted in the EU (Germany) on Hetzner infrastructure
Data processing and security:
- ✔️API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM (authenticated encryption)
- ✔️All communication is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS
- ✔️API keys are never logged, never included in API responses, and never shared with third parties
- ✔️The service only communicates with Hetzner Cloud API and Apple Push Notification Service
- ✔️You can disable the feature and delete your data at any time
Important: The HeC Watcher service enforces read-only API tokens. The service verifies that each token is read-only before accepting it, ensuring your infrastructure can only be monitored, never modified. Each project requires its own dedicated read-only token, separate from the token used to operate the app.
You are responsible for your account security and actions taken through the app.
- ✔️Keep your API tokens secure and confidential
- ✔️Use appropriate token permissions for your needs
- ✔️Enable biometric authentication for added security
- ✔️Review actions before confirming (especially deletions)
- ✔️Comply with Hetzner's acceptable use policies
Important: Actions performed through HeC are executed on your Hetzner Cloud account. Deleting servers, volumes, or other resources is permanent and may result in data loss.
HeC offers premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions.
- ✔️Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account
- ✔️Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase
- ✔️Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the end of the current period
- ✔️Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store settings
- ✔️No refunds for partial subscription periods
Free trials may be offered for premium subscriptions.
- ✔️Trial eligibility is determined by Apple
- ✔️Unused trial portion is forfeited upon subscription purchase
- ✔️Cancel before trial ends to avoid charges
- ✔️One free trial per Apple ID
HeC is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
- ✔️We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
- ✔️We are not liable for actions taken on your Hetzner account
- ✔️We are not liable for data loss resulting from resource deletion
- ✔️We are not responsible for Hetzner API availability or changes
- ✔️Push notification delivery depends on Apple Push Notification Service and network conditions, and is not guaranteed
- ✔️The HeC Watcher service is provided on a best-effort basis and should not be relied upon as your sole monitoring solution
- ✔️Use of the app is at your own risk
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.
You agree not to misuse the app or use it for unauthorized purposes.
- ✔️Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- ✔️Do not use the app to violate Hetzner's terms of service
- ✔️Do not attempt to circumvent subscription requirements
- ✔️Do not share your subscription access with others
- ✔️Do not abuse the HeC Watcher service (excessive watcher creation, automated registration)
- ✔️Do not use the app for any illegal activities
We may update these terms from time to time.
- ✔️Changes will be posted with an updated "Last updated" date
- ✔️Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
- ✔️Material changes may be notified through the app
- ✔️Review terms periodically for updates
These terms are governed by applicable law.
- ✔️Disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable law
- ✔️Apple's Standard EULA applies where not superseded
- ✔️You retain all statutory consumer rights
